Troim Katz Handler, daughter of Yiddish poet Menke Katz, was interviewed by Christa Whitney on March 11, 2013 in Boca Raton, Florida. Troim was born to Menke and his then wife Chaske, herself a poet. Her mother, she says, was utterly devoted to Menke, while he lived as a bachelor away from his family. Troim was raised in the home of her maternal grandparents. It was her grandmother, and not her famous father, who encouraged her love of Yiddish literature...
